I don't recall the day, the hour, the moment which Jane Austen stepped into my life but I do know that she will never leave me. I began to read Jane Austen's novels in my early 20's and love to re-read them over and over, always finding a new passage to call a favorite or pause over another one with fond remembrance. The
characters in Jane Austen's books leap from the page, their society,
and into your hearts. Whether they be Mr. Collins or Mr. Darcy ... both
make you study them close and you soon learn their inner workings for
good or bad. The heroines we embrace possess strong convictions and
passionate hearts which don't always live the best life but strive to
capture enduring love if not wealth. My
designs centered around Jane Austen, her verse and her stories, bring
her world closer to ours as they are created and stitched with splendid
care. I have been very fortunate to meet other Janeites like myself
around this big wide world and happy that there are many needleworkers
among them ... thus I call my fellow kindred spirits, stitching
Janeites. May
you find comfort and good tidings in all your sewing work and
especially sweet affection when you stitch the words of Jane ... let her
