Miss Abby King worked her sampler whilst attending Pleasant Hill Boarding School. She enjoyed her stitches very much but it was the sewing which Miss King felt a hardship therefore she added buttons to the corners for added grace and also in hopes her teacher wouldn't see the uneven tops.
